A journey through the cycle of life that, from the patio of three brothers, penetrates the depths of the earth. A work that with objects, music, history and movement speaks about belonging, loss and encounter. Tum is the third play for early childhood by the Teatro de Ocasión company (Una mañanita partí…).
This is the story of a playground told and sung by three children who play there while they discover life and grow. Three adventurous brothers traveling through their garden, day and night, above and below the ground. An expedition that will confront them with the magic of the cycle of life.
Wood, glasses, bags, lights and other objects are transformed on stage into different characters that accompany this transit.
Tum is the third work that the Teatro de Ocasión company premieres for early childhood, after Una mañanita partí... and The round trip. Here they decided to expand the themes that productions for children up to 6 years old traditionally address. "We talk about life and death and it is not the most common thing to deal with that topic in a play for the little ones. There are many taboos around death and the challenge has been to approach it from a bright and universal side, in a natural way, with a bit of mystery and mysticism," says Tita Iacobelli, director of the play.
The company usually works with guest directors, like Tita, to "experiment and move towards places that we don't know and that seem attractive to us," says Fernanda Carrasco, actress of the group, also known for having been part of the band La Mano Ajena.
The montage was created in a company residence in GAM.
