Tryo Teatro Banda reviews the history of parliaments between Mapuches and Spaniards, from their origins to their current repercussions.
January 6, 1641. Next to the Quillén River, the toki Lincopichón and the Marquis of Baydes, governor of the kingdom of Chile, sign peace between the Mapuches and the Spanish. The treaty is remembered as the Parliament of Quilín. From then on and for more than two centuries, parliaments would be held that would allow negotiation, trade and ties. Until the Chilean government ignores the agreement and invades.
Francisco Sánchez goes through that history like a minstrel to look up to the present in Parlamento!, a one-man show from the renowned company Tryo Teatro Banda. Sánchez also wrote the text and composed the music. The address is Andrés del Bosque.
