Luis, an octogenarian watchmaker, faces an emotional journey after the death of his wife, dealing with a watch that is impossible to fix and the curiosity of his young apprentice. This monologue, starring a life-sized, live-operated puppet, amplifies the intense internal world of the protagonist. Directed by Vicente Larroulet Philippi and with dramaturgy by Xavier Usabiaga.

Old Wall Clock, is a work that invites us to explore memory, the passage of time and stories. It tells the story of Luis, an elderly watchmaker who has recently been widowed. Surrounded by his watches and memories, he begins to confuse the present with the past, beginning an intense emotional journey crossed by frustration at a watch that he cannot repair and a young apprentice who tries to find out more about him.

Under the direction of Vicente Larroulet, this work addresses universal themes such as nostalgia, oblivion and the inevitable transformation of memories over the years. It is a portrait of the third and fourth age of Chile, which explores loss and madness.

This monologue stars Elisa Osorio, who uses a life-size puppet. The sounds and images are operated live, blurring the limits between reality, memory and the desires of the protagonist. The project highlights watchmaking, a trade in danger of extinction.

"The challenge of this work is above all technical, we are talking about a watchmaker, therefore we worry about synchronizing all the elements of the scene with the greatest possible precision. Thus, a strange space is proposed where everything is related, light and sound, voice and gesture, colors and emotion," says director Vicente Larroulet.

To build this work, the team conducted long interviews with watchmakers in the center of Santiago, delving into the relationships, conversations and reflections they built with their clients.

Currently, more than 4 million of the country's inhabitants are older adults, of which 519 thousand live in single-person homes. This work seeks to make grief and loneliness visible in the elderly, offering a sensitive and deep look at a reality that affects thousands of people. "It is expected that by 2050 the world population of people over 60 years of age will double. We think it is important to generate works that propose to discuss this issue from a transgenerational perspective, not only among older adults," concludes Larroulet.
