White 2014

It is said that more than 35 years ago two space probes traveled through the universe carrying golden discs that tell the story of life on planet Earth, so that if an extraterrestrial civilization crosses them, it would know who we are and where we are. Since the birth of the planet and life, they have carried evolution told in sounds. Blanco has a similar starting point.

The Big Bang, the planets, the beating of a heart and nature sound at the beginning of the work of the dancer Alexandra Mabes (I stayed at home all day), a contemporary dance creation that proposes an allegory of the history of humanity through sound, movement, plastic arts and objects.  “For me, music is the word, but I am not interested in representing, but in inspiring,” explains Alexandra.

Huge black balloons, pearls, stones, wind, fabric, feathers are some of the objects that the dancers use and redefine in the work. The piece is performed by Alexandra herself and Damian Ketterer, a dancer from José Luis Vidal's company and the KIM project, by Elías Cohen.

After its look at evolution, the work advances through history towards conflict, war and reconstruction, to reach a more intimate present, which addresses the bond between man and woman. Blanco ends with a projection to the future, represented in the energy of the dance, of the night party, which despite its strength is going to decline. 

A year of research modified the idea behind the work, so today it is far from what was shown in a primary stage, as part of the cycle of works in progress of the Cielos del Infinito Festival.
