What happens in the room

Kike Faúndez is interested in doing dance with social content. He debuted as a director with Against Time, a work about the stress of contemporary life. And now he returns with What happens in the room, a montage about bullying.

The work tries to give a cinematographic look at bullying, opening up the problem outside of school, also looking at the family environment. Why does someone abuse? Why does the victim remain silent? These are some of the questions that the montage explores.

"I think that almost all of us experienced bullying as children, whether as a victim or an active or passive harasser. Personally, because of my stuttering, I could be a victim, but I didn't let that happen. But it is a reality that victims can make fatal decisions, and I don't understand how children make a decision as serious as suicide," says Faúndez.

The language of the work is a cross between the styles of its performers, because some have training in contemporary dance and others come from the world of hip hop and urban dances. A crossover of styles that Faúndez also has, because he went through Bafochi, BANCH and Ballet de Santiago and won the reality show Fama that Channel 13 broadcast 10 years ago.
