Something cheap that looks expensive. Fake gold. That means tinsel. The word fitted perfectly to a choreographic investigation by Carolina Cifras on the overvaluation and overexposure of the body. And so she was baptized.

Tinsel investigates the body between reality and appearance and is situated on a large steel platform that simulates a raft that at times seems to float. “When I visualized the montage, I visualized images and relationships, not people dancing, that's why I thought of people, not dancers,” says the director. Thus, in the cast there are performers who do not come from the world of dance, such as the actor Jonathan Inostroza and the actor and director Rodrigo Pérez.

Cifras is a dancer and director of contemporary dance with studies and experience in Chile and France. This project was developed and premiered last year at the NAVE center. Oropel closes a trilogy of Figures about life under neoliberalism, after 2010 and Pampa.
