The outburst

“To be free sometimes you have to break someone's heart,” says Francisco Delgado to explain his uprooting as a son. Like him, the rest of the cast reveals to us, through singing and dancing, their choices, their desperate impulses to seek fluidity between their desires and their lives. They do it in an intimate contemporary show that has theatrical resources.

Traditional singing, with its stories of encounters and farewells, inspires this work by the contemporary flamenco company La Típica, co-produced with Espacio Checoeslovakia. A choral work unifies the musical proposal. And on stage, the singers integrate into the choreography, two of them even join the dance. Everything happens on a circular floor with bronze applications that delivers different sounds than the classic wooden floor.

"The research of this project is mainly based on determining and identifying how the concepts of migration and uprooting affect and manifest themselves in and through the body. An 'unstable balance' is produced: the insecurity of leaving a safe environment - out of necessity, obligation or simply out of curiosity and desire to search - unbalances and modifies corporeality," says the director, Natalia García Huidobro.
