Kinoshita Kabuki has been making remakes of ancient Kabuki stories from a contemporary perspective for six years, in its desire to create a bridge between the classic and current artistic language. “We must approach the classics with the hope that they reflect the true image of our contemporary society,” said its director and founder, Yuichi Kinoshita.
