Contemporary dance and theater work that shows a reality show for the terminally ill. Independent project of dancers from the Santiago Ballet created and directed by Esdras Hernández.
Five dancers play terminally ill patients who decide to spend their last days in a studio home. With movements and text they show the traces of their illness, the tension of the conflict typical of a reality show, the tests that characterize this television genre and the break caused by contact with the outside. This happens in Reality show, an independent project by dancers from the Santiago Ballet that unites contemporary dance and theater.
Esdras Hernández created and directs the work in which Agustín Cañulef, Marcela Goicochea, Cecilia Ojeda, Camila Justiniano and Alexis Quiroz participate. On stage, eight screens and two cameras recreate a television set and provide audiovisuals. Its eclectic music was composed by the director.
The work seeks to question the cult of image and the search for fame, along with the rupture that this causes between the private and the public, between what we are and what we project. The dramaturgy is by Daniel Hernández.
