Five thousand flowers and a transparent tomb frame Preparatio Mortis, the solo by the dancer Annabelle Chambon that brings the Belgian artist and choreographer Jan Fabre back to Chile. This allegory of the resurrection, which will have only two performances, comes to GAM presented by Fundación Teatro a Mil.
From a hill of lilies, chrysanthemums, gladioli and gerberas, first a hand appears, then an arm, then the head and finally the bare feet of the dancer Annabelle Chambon, who in a particular resurrection to the rhythm of music emerges from a large transparent tomb to perform Preparatio Mortis, the creation of the Belgian Jan Fabre that reflects on existence after dying.
"It is precisely through death that we learn to see life differently. It pushes a fuller and more intense vision on us. I constantly strive for a post-mortem life," explains the artist, whose piece will only have two performances at GAM with the support of the Teatro a Mil Foundation.
Thus, each movement by Chambon, who created the choreography with Fabre, is an explosion of energy that confronts the public with a death that, instead of being taboo, is exposed through color and joy.
