Orgiology

Orgiology is the invented word that titles this creation of contemporary dance, performance and theatricality that celebrates group sexuality. The team led by Paula Sacur and Ernesto Orellana defines it with another concept of their own creation: “transcenic performance”, which implies performing arts and sexual dissidence activism. And in its artistic file appears a category never seen before in this cultural center: the person in charge of fluids.

On paper, Orgiology makes a difference. This creation focuses on the body, from discourse, language and aesthetics; investigating sex, sexuality and gender. The proposal reviews Western Greco-Latin and pre-Columbian sexuality and imagines new directions.

In the scene the design symbolizes a large membrane, bed, body. The heterogeneous cast wears costumes with layers and lots of nudity. And the sound is inspired by nature, the body, Gregorian chants and tribal sounds.
