For the first time Humberto Maturana and Ximena Dávila, founders of the Matric School, collaborate on a dance work. A choreographic account of the emotional autobiography of its performers, directed by Vilma González.
This work of contemporary dance, performance, audiovisual and music has a secret script. Behind each solo, couple or group movement, there is a personal story of its performers. But what is seen on stage are not the facts, but rather what they felt in front of them, translated into a choreographic story.
In Matrix there is loneliness, pain, tension, aggression, curiosity, candor. “Beyond each person's events, we have all in some way passed through the same places,” says Vilma González, project director. Matriz was born from the questions that Vilma had while participating in La noche obstinada, a work by Pablo Rotemberg that investigated the violence of relationships. Three performers of this work joined the project.
Matriz was created in a laboratory process in which Escuela Matríztica collaborated, with the direct participation, among others, of its founders: Humberto Maturana and Ximena Dávila. The work is based on the thinking of this school, focused on people, on the way they live and coexist in search of preserving and expanding their well-being.
