"An intimate, contained, poetic and fragmentary show."

—The Third

It is so nice to know that you exist seeks to produce, investigate, create and reflect through contemporary dance on “being a human”: a subject and a body that is always, through the passage of time, in transformation, which entails permanent changes and readjustment processes in a new existential territory. Created by Sebastián de la Cuesta (Migrante, Black Beach), this piece is a small tribute to many older people who feel and are invisible due to the priorities of our capitalist society. "We want to propose the hypothesis of what it means to be a citizen today. Engage the sense of permanently placing oneself in the place of the other. That is to say: empathy," says the director. The cast of the play includes prominent names in the national performing arts: Paulina Mellado, Francisca Sazié, Rodrigo Pérez, Manuel Peña and Raúl López. Cristián Reyes' comprehensive design includes a multimedia device with projections, sound and lighting. It's so nice to know that you exist was developed at Espacio Czechoslovakia, directed by De la Cuesta, Reyes and Rodrigo Leal, responsible for the lighting of the work.
