Rush, productivity, demand. A contemporary dance work about bodies subjected to the current accelerated and demanding rhythm, based on the reading of the philosopher Byung Chul-Han. Directed by Teresa Prieto.

The body exerts itself in the gym, it moves mechanically and repetitively at work, it becomes an object in fashion, it is dehumanized. And all of this leads to Hyperkinesis, a contemporary dance creation directed by Teresa Prieto.

The work was born from everyday stress and reading Byung Chul-Han, who talks about the society of tiredness and how we exploit ourselves. “The work asks how to live at this pace without losing ourselves or disconnecting from ourselves and with that from the rest of the people,” says the director.

Performance, mindfulness, tai chi and hip hop animation techniques were part of the creation process and permeate the movements on stage. Hiperkinesis was developed by Prieto in dialogue with the designer Cristian Reyes, designing an experience where the audience uses headphones to listen to a sound universe that is partly not perceived by the performers (Sebastián Brown, Rodrigo Chaverini, Macarena Campbell and Luis Corvalán). With music by Miguel Miranda and sound device by Mirko Petrovich.
