Through dance, music, different objects and the tool of video mapping, GEA seeks to awaken the senses and curiosity of children between 4 and 7 years old and their caregivers, inviting them to interact with the elements arranged on stage, listening, observing and touching.

Movement is based on species with which we share our environment, such as fish, amphibians, reptiles and mammals. Live music fuses sounds from the Chilean landscape with electroacoustic music, while objects and projections are inspired by the biodiversity and geography of our landscape.

This proposal is the continuation of the multisensory dance research begun with the work ATLAS, for babies between 6 months and 3 years old. "ATLAS could represent our first environment as a human species, inspired by oceanic and amniotic waters, while GEA explores our second environment, the terrestrial environment," says Loreto Caviedes, director of both projects.

Faced with the environmental crisis, the work seeks to connect with the sense of belonging to the environment, as well as empathy towards other species on the planet. "We have a lot in common with the species that surround us, starting with the movement patterns of motor development that lead us to walk. At this stage we can see babies carrying out homologous coordination typical of frogs to contralateral movements, such as crawling, of mammals," adds Caviedes.

GEA offers a journey to listen, then to observe, then to play and finally, at the end of the work, the performers invite the audience to move around the scene if they wish.
