A story full of hope, which speaks of the healing power of love and suggests that emotional energy breaks the dimensional barriers of life, transporting us to the purest origin of movement: energy.

The MAE Company, Experimental Artistic Movement directed by choreographer Claudio Puebla, presents the first experimental hip hop work that has been made in Chile, after its premiere at Matucana 100 in 2014.

Gasper Crew is the story of two brothers tragically separated by an accident, where one of them is trapped between heaven and earth. In this space between life and death he begins a journey, through which he manages to understand his purpose. A story of hope, which speaks of the healing power of love and suggests that emotional energy breaks the dimensional barriers of life, transporting us to the purest origin of movement.

"This work integrates three languages ​​simultaneously: urban dance (hip hop and breaking), contemporary dance and an audiovisual proposal with cinematographic logic. The challenge was to ensure that these languages ​​coexist organically," says its director, Claudio Puebla.

Although Puebla himself has practiced and studied each of the dances that are incorporated into Gasper Crew, the most important thing was precisely to merge everything into a single expression that would have as its seal the energy that street dance transmits. "Another important challenge was translating abstract concepts—such as interdimensional connection, affective energy, and the transit of the soul—into bodily, light, and visual codes understandable to the public without the use of texts or dialogues," he adds.

For this reason, its director maintains, it works perfectly to talk about energies and extrasensory perceptions, which is the support on which the work rests.

"We live in a context where grief, loss and emotional health have become central and urgent topics. Gasper Crew invites us to reflect on the way in which emotional bonds persist beyond distances, breakups and death itself. The work proposes a luminous view: the idea that love is an energy capable of crossing the dimensional barriers of life and accompanying us even in the most difficult processes," concludes Puebla.
