With a diverse program, the festival comes to GAM and different places in the city with contemporary dance. Excarnación will be presented for adults, while children will be able to enjoy GEA.
This month, the Movediza Festival lands at GAM to remind us that the body is our most vibrant territory. With a proposal that invites you to look at dance from completely opposite but complementary perspectives, the festival presents two unmissable experiences: a visceral journey on Wednesday and Thursday and an immersive adventure for the little ones on Saturday and Sunday.
Excarnation: Instructions for opening a body (+14 years)
There are works that are observed and others, such as Excarnación, that confront each other. This contemporary dance piece breaks with traditional structures to disarm the body and reveal what we usually avoid. Through intense movements and a provocative staging, the work explores our identities and the fictions in which we inhabit every day. Here, the strange and the "monstrous" stop causing fear and become a cry of resistance. It is a sensory and critical invitation to question who we are and how we see ourselves, turning the intimate into a deeply political act.

GEA: The awakening of wonder (for children from 4 to 7 years old)
For the little ones, the festival proposes GEA, a magical journey designed to activate the senses. More than a play, it is a living landscape that unfolds from the mountain range to the sea, where dance, sound and images build a world to discover. Designed especially for boys and girls in the stage of maximum curiosity, GEA invites them to explore the territory, animals and nature through play and emotion. It is the perfect opportunity for children to have an early and powerful encounter with art, learning to feel and inhabit the world around us.

In addition, the Festival will open a conversation space called Other possible scenes, with the participation of Francisca Las Heras, from the Extension Center of the National Institute (CEINA); Joss Faúndez, from Balmaceda Arte Joven (BAJ); Julieta Brodsky, from the Peñalolén Cultural Corporation; Jennifer McColl Crozier, NAVE Creation and Residency Center; Gustavo Carrasco, from the Matucana 100 Cultural Center and Felipe Reyes from GAM. Moderator, Carolina Courbis, also GAM.
The panel aims to bring together programmers and cultural agents from the cultural spaces that are part of the festival, as well as from the field of performing arts in the metropolitan scene.
This instance seeks to open a space for critical dialogue around dance programming, putting at the center questions such as: How do we activate the development of audiences around this discipline? How do we promote dance programming? How to approach languages and practices that are off the radar? How to ensure inclusion and accessibility in our artistic proposals? What possible scenes do we imagine in our current context? among others.
