Displacements

A space to explore the processes, experiences and formats that account for the current state of the discipline in Chile created by Betania González and Chery Matus.

The four works offer the public a sample composed of diverse stage exercises in languages, formats and aspects of dance. With an undoubted interest in the permanent updating of forms and ways of creating, this set of proposals becomes an invitation to live a spatial-sensory experience, an adventure through a circuit of the various ways of seeing and thinking about the body in action.

EXERCISE 3, THE MEETING
From Pseudonym. Duration 30 minutes
Exercise 3, the encounter is a work of contemporary dance and performance in which we witness the different encounters between two enigmatic characters. Both interact through actions, gestures and objects to propose a reflection on human relationships and the different obstacles that get in the way. The young Chilean company Pseudónimo presents this work with a disturbing and seductive aesthetic, which places objects as generators of movement and dance as a result of the clear and effective interaction between the performers. A proposal of great thoroughness, precision and technical virtuosity.

DEER / EXERCISE FOR A DUO

Deer / Exercise for a duo is a stage research project about the bodily transformations experienced when in contact with another. What displacements are generated from the interaction between two bodies? How to describe, through dance, the ideas and forms that open with each union? What powers and passions do these new caresses promise us? Taking touch and contact as a starting point, artists Soledad Medina and Cristóbal Barra Corvalán present this work that invites open terrain and the confusion of the parts. A piece that investigates the possibilities of resignifying the body beyond what is accepted and tolerated.

THE BODIES THAT HABIT

The bodies I inhabit is a contemporary dance piece that reflects on the body and its dichotomies. Taking the ideas of “body image” and “body schema” raised in the work Le Corps by the French philosopher Michael Bernard, this group of performers directed by the choreographer Luis Corvalán, manages to put together a scenic exercise that is articulated in a simple way, and that travels through the territory of tension that arises between the body molded from the context and that which is more authentic, primitive and ancestral.

VOID

By Sergio Mora-Diaz. Duration 30 minutes Void is an immersive sensory experience. A scenic montage of light, sound and movement that mixes art and technology to recreate the cosmos and the galaxy. Premiered in 2017, this show invites you to experience a journey through time and space, to freely tour the installation to let yourself be carried away by the beauty of the optical effects and the audiovisual proposal it proposes.
