Dance and Creation Meeting Balmaceda Arte Joven

There are four works that will be exhibited during the event, which are characterized by exploring the sensory capacity of the body and the conceptualization of space. The works were chosen in a process that brought together more than 40 projects from dance companies in the Metropolitan region.

The selection was made by a rigorous jury made up of the coordinator of the Dance Area of ​​the Ministry of Cultures, Arts and Heritage, Paola Moret, the director of Programming and Audiences of GAM, Pamela López and the choreographer and performer, Adrián Otárola.

Programming

Chromosome
“Chromosome” means body color, according to its Greek origin. It is based on this definition that the Bacchanal Company opens a universe of possibilities, through a corporal practice linked to the somatic.  Through the piece they create and group a series of dance, lighting and atmospheric resources to generate tensions, and also investigate the language of courage, risk and poise of the body in relation to itself and others.

Pieza de Indias
“Pieza de Indias” Indias” is the result of the research process on the Latin American bodily heritage, intertwined with the deep cultural history born of miscegenation. The work captures this mixture of ethnicities, their resistance and the rebellion of the bodies that refuse to forget what the mind was forced to discard.

From the timeless
This proposal seeks, through cumulative physical actions between two people, to attract the attention on what the viewer can understand as timeless.

Bucal Gym
Contemporary dance work that addresses oral fixation as a central axis of research through movement. It seeks to question and demarcate socially established limits through various scenic dynamics, where risk, impulse and action-reaction are a fundamental part of the choreography. The work is built under the return and viralization of “Pop Art” and influenced by the aesthetics imposed by “Teen Pop”.
