The Dúo Américas will perform a chamber music intervention that brings together for the first time two violins that cross the continent. The program includes works by Mark O'Connor, Reinhold Glière, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Béla Bartók, four composers who, from different traditions and geographies, explore the intimate dialogue between two strings.
In the Central Plaza of GAM, the musical encounter transcends geographical and generational borders. Dúo Américas brings together two violinists trained at the ends of the continent: the American Tiffany Tieu and the Chilean Isidora Aliaga Morán, in a dialogue that celebrates years of shared work in the classrooms of the UC Music Institute.
What began as the bond between teacher and student is today transformed into a first-class artistic proposal. Tiffany Tieu, former member of the Santiago Philharmonic Orchestra and Fulbright scholar, brings a career that ranges from Carnegie Hall to social impact programs in hospitals.
For her part, Isidora Aliaga Morán, a performer and musicologist with training at the Sorbonne in Paris and the Catholic University of Chile, adds to the proposal an innovative perspective that crosses interpretation with contemporary cultural management.
Dúo Américas is not just a concert; It is the reflection of two trajectories that converge. It is the meeting between the experience of the great international stages and the freshness of the new generation of Chilean musicians. Two violins that, in the heart of the city, invite us to rediscover the sound of our continent.
