UC Music Concert: Debussy and Ravel, French soundscapes

Summit works of the chamber production of two central French composers in universal literature will be addressed by three professors from the UC Music Institute in the program “Debussy and Ravel, French soundscapes.”

Both are mature creations. Oriana Silva and Marcela Rodríguez will perform the Sonata for violin and piano that Claude Debussy composed in 1917, just months before he died, ill, aware of the proximity of his end and in the midst of the tragedy of the First World War.

Then they will be joined by Celso López to address the Trio in A minor by Maurice Ravel, a piece with which he conquered, in 1914, a new orchestral capacity in the chamber exercise, without sacrificing melodic richness and exhibiting great contrasts.
