Professors Luis Castro, José Antonio Escobar and Carlos Arenas, plus the UC Academic Quartet, perform in a program that includes the premiere in Chile of Concerto for guitar and strings by Leo Maslíah and pieces by Enrique Granados.

The most classic facet of the singer-songwriter and writer Leo Maslíah will be part of the 62nd UC Camera Season. The Uruguayan musician studied composition with two consecrated figures: Coriún Aharonián and Graciela Pasakevaidis and an example of his production in this field is the Concert for guitar and strings, which will be premiered in Chile by Professor Luis Castro, the UC Academic Quartet and Professor Carlos Arenas on double bass.

The roots and resonances of milonga, tango and candombe that flow in this work will have a counterpoint with three pieces by Enrique Granados that are also reconversions of folklore. From the Hispanic composer, adaptations for two guitars of Poetic Waltzes and two of his Spanish Dances will be performed by UC academics Luis Castro and José Antonio Escobar.
