The Foundation of Youth and Children's Orchestras (FOJI) will hold a concert called “Give me your hand, tribute to Gabriela Mistral”, framed in the inauguration of the II International Meeting of Education, Art and Culture-Hilando Saberes #SEA2025. The activity will feature the participation of the strings of the Metropolitan Student Symphony Orchestra (OSEM), made up of 44 young musicians, under the direction of Miguel Ángel Muñoz.

The program that they will perform on the occasion includes Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart with Divertimento in D Major K.V 136, which is characterized by its three-movement structure and its simple melodic and harmonic style, intended for entertainment and musical enjoyment with the works: Allegro, Andante and Presto. To the above, they will add the piece by Chilean composer Alfonso Leng, Andante for strings.

The second part of the concert will be performed by the FOJI Percussion Ensemble, directed by Marcelo Stuardo, which will perform a varied repertoire that includes works by Gibson Reyes, Alice Gomez and Martlin Rife, Mbira and Emmanuel Séjoume.

To finish with theFOJI Boys and Girls Choir, directed by Cecilia Barrientos, who will present a selection of works based on the texts of the Nobel Prize winner Gabriela Mistral, among which stand out: Tierra Chilena, Doña Primavera, Dame la Mano and La Pajita.

The Foundation of Youth and Children's Orchestras is a non-profit organization that seeks to promote musical education and the training of young talents throughout Chile. Since its creation in 2001, it has managed to bring together thousands of children and young people from different regions of the country, who have come together to create high quality orchestras.
