The Foundation of Youth and Children's Orchestras (FOJI), will begin its annual concert season at GAM with a presentation by the Percussion Ensemble, directed by Marcelo Stuardo; of the Wood Ensemble of the Metropolitan Student Symphony Orchestra (OSEM) and the National Youth Symphony Orchestra (OSNJ) under the direction of Jorge Levin.

The concert is part of the program with which the institution commemorates its 25 years of experience, recognized for its social commitment, artistic training and the promotion of symphonic music among boys, girls and young people throughout the country. On this occasion, performers from the age of 10 will participate, highlighting emerging talent and passion for music.

“It will be a concert that will bring together outstanding young groups from the Foundation of Youth and Children's Orchestras of Chile in a proposal that combines sound diversity, popular repertoire and instrumental exploration,” comments the director of the Percussion Ensemble, Marcelo Stuardo.

Said Ensemble will offer a repertoire focused on Latin American music, where a wide range of timbres, rhythms and textures typical of contemporary percussion will be displayed, allowing the public to experience the sonic richness of this format. For its part, the Maderas Ensemble will address a program of a mainly popular nature, incorporating various musical languages and a proposal accessible to different audiences. Works by: Paquito D' Rivera (Cuba), Ney Rosauro (Brazil), Arturo Márquez (Mexico), Ludwig van Beethoven (Germany), among others, will be performed on the occasion.

Maestro Jorge Levin adds that "these groups generate support for the development of great musicians. They invite us on a fascinating journey that goes from the magic of percussive rhythms, the depth of the classical repertoire, to the rhythmic and melodic richness of contemporary Latin American music."
