The UC Music Institute returns to GAM with a new edition of the UC Contemporary Music Festival, the longest-running event dedicated to current musical creation of written tradition.

In its 2025 version, the festival presents 80% of national composers, with half of the works composed this year. A total of 15 works will be absolute premieres, three out of every five compositions on the program.

The festival will feature outstanding national and foreign performers, such as the clarinetist Adrián Sandí, and with stable and associated ensembles of UC Music: UC Contemporary Ensemble, UC Percussion Group, UC Academic Quartet and UC Contemporary Music Workshop Ensemble.

The programs will include works for solo instrument, duets, ensembles and choirs, as well as compositions with live electronics.

Day 1 – Tue 4 Nov

UC Contemporary Ensemble
The opening day will bring together six works, three of them absolute premieres.
Highlights include new creations by Camilo Roca (Mecanismos) and Tom Bañados (Chaconne), along with pieces by Felipe Pinto d’Aguiar, Eleonora Coloma, Juan Manuel Quinteros and Jorge Pepi-Alós.

Day 2 – Wed 5 Nov

UC Contemporary Music Workshop Ensemble
Five works for ensemble, three absolute premieres and an entirely Chilean repertoire.
Includes compositions by Martín Letelier, Anselmo Ugarte, Andrés Núñez, Cristian Morales Ossio, Andrés Maupoint and Aliocha Solovera.

Day 3 – Thu Nov 6

Five of the six works will be absolute premieres. Adrián Sandí, Fernanda Ortega, Tomás Moreno, Gabriel Kauer, Lucas Muñoz and the UC Percussion Group will participate.
Pieces by Rodrigo Cádiz will be presented, Miguel Farías, Antonio Carvallo, Andy Akiho, among others.

Day 4 – Fri Nov 7

International closing
A day with works by composers from Brazil, Argentina and Mexico, as well as three absolute premieres.
Participating are Karina Fischer, Guillermo Lavado, Colectivo Punto Espora, Sebastián de Larraechea, Bastián Contreras and Cristian Morales Ossio.
