Memory Maps Workshop: explorations for creation and circus dramaturgy

Maps of memory is a space for accompaniment and deepening for research-creation processes in contemporary circus, aimed at professional artists or artists in the process of professionalization.
Through performing practices, dialogues with theoretical material, artistic references and the participants' own biographical motivations, we will build a creative map that interweaves personal memories, concepts and intuitions around circus art to develop their own creations.
The workshop proposes an instance of meeting, practical exchange and collective reflection on the processes of creation and writing from the contemporary circus, inviting each artist to explore their own materials from a sensitive and critical perspective. A space where personal processes are valued as fertile territory for creation, recognizing in memory, the body and the word a possible cartography to think and do circus today.
This activity is part of the SPECULATIONS ABOUT THE CIRCUS program, an International Improvement Program for Creation, Dramaturgy and Direction from the Contemporary Circus, run by the Virtual Circus Collective.

REQUIREMENTS FOR ATTENDANTS: Have an idea or project in progress (initial, medium or advanced state), have average command of some circus or stage techniques and complete availability for the activity days.
Monologue and Autofiction Workshop
Oct 6 and 7 | 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. | Room C1
This workshop is aimed at the exploration and creation of theatrical texts for a single character, where the author's biography becomes the starting point for fiction.
Throughout the sessions, dramatic exercises designed as creative triggers will be shared, with the aim of developing short scenes focused on language and the possibilities of theater. What place does fiction occupy in our writings? And how much of the biographical remains, is transformed or hidden on stage? These are some of the questions that will guide the reflection and collective work during the workshop.
