GAM is five years old, but the building it occupies has a history that began in 1972. A group of older adults will share their vision of the history of this space as Unctad III, later Diego Portales and current GAM in an intervention and a conversation that aims to delve deeper into the memory of the place.
Starting at 2 p.m., three Memory Stands, located in Plaza Central, will receive the public with graphic information about different moments in the history of the UNCTAD III building.
At 5 p.m. there will be a discussion in room C2 about the building, as a political and social symbol of recent history, by Miguel Lawner, architect in charge of the work and representatives of the workers of the time. Threads of Absence by Viviana Silva Flores, which will display the names of the workers who built the UNCTAD III building on 1,317 embroidered handkerchiefs.
