The Mirador Interactive Museum, MIM, turns 15 years old. And to celebrate, it will install interactive modules in GAM, as a way to dialogue and celebrate with the city, as well as deliver moments of amazement and joy to the public.
There will be six modules that will be available to visitors:
Pixélate: Using this wall of plastic nails, the volume of the body and its fundamental features can be represented.
Conversing in circles: By spinning a figure, an optical illusion is generated where you can see either a cup or faces in profile moving their lips, which shows that two images cannot be processed simultaneously in our brain.
Pull the Rope: Here two people pull the rope at each end of the module trying to win, but one of its sides has a pulley system that makes the task easier for the participant and allows his opponent to win.
Group balance: Several people can climb on this platform, who must place a ball in a hole in the center, through the coordination and movement of all the participants.
Necker Pyramids: a structure that when moving in front of it generates confusion in the brain, since the horizontal lines in perspective give the sensation of depth where there is none.
Your dad's nose: two people sit face to face on each side of a mirror and must match both faces through the mirrors, but a new and unreal face is formed.
These travel modules were installed in different emblematic spaces in the country: Baquedano, Quinta Normal, Puente Alto Metro stations; the National Congress, Calvo Mackenna Hospital, Ministry of Education, National Institute and Lyceum 1. GAM will be the closing of this initiative where the public will be able to interact with science in a playful way.
