Julia and Ignacio met one Christmas Eve afternoon 21 years ago in a square. They were both alone and then they decided to spend the holidays together. From that moment on they have been inseparable. Julia is 65 years old. Until adolescence he was called Oscar Alberto. Shortly after, she began to cross-dress and adopted the name Julia.
In 1993, after rigorous physical and psychological studies, a sex change operation was performed that led Oscar Alberto-Julia to be the second Uruguayan to biologically become a woman. Paradoxically, she had to wait until 2005 for the same State that had proceeded, in a public hospital, to change her sex to legally recognize her new female identity. Ignacio is 75 years old and you can see how hard his life was. He barely survived for years thanks to precarious and poorly paid jobs, he drank a lot of alcohol and lived on the streets until he met Julia who gave him peace and stability in a home environment. Currently, the couple hopes to get married, after twenty years of living together. Aldo Garay had already filmed with Ignacio and Julia, Mi gringa, unfinished portrait, and reunites them with all the thickness of a sentimental relationship that always seeks to distance itself to move forward with its own vigor.
