Book Fury 2014

115 editorials, 40 activities and 20 launches. The Fury of the Book returns in bulk. In its eighth edition, the independent publishers' fair has readings, storytelling, conversations, launches, music, and a lot of books.

There are books on fiction, poetry, theater, illustration, comics, children's literature, art, essays, philosophy, social sciences, football, and also e-books and fanzines. Among the hundred publishers that carry them are Chancacazo, Lom, Ceibo, Sangría, Cuneta, Hueders, Lolita, Tajamar, Ocho Libros, Libros del Laurel, Cuarto Propio and Das Kapital.

The Fury of the Book opens on Thursday the 11th with the music of the increasingly popular Cristóbal Briceño (7 p.m.). Then the Frenchwoman Claire Duvivier talks about Latin American crime (8 p.m.), a genre that she has published on Asphalte Éditions, the French label of which she is the director.

On Friday the 12th there are the poems set to music in electronic tones from Martian Poets (8:30 p.m.), which include the strangeness of atypical instruments such as the theremin and the hang.

Saturday the 12th begins dedicated to children, with children's storytellers and whisperers of poems and riddles who recite directly from a tube in their ears. At 4 p.m. a radio workshop is offered by Radio USACH and at 5:30 p.m. the songs of Natisú, Traigán Romero and Natalia Contesse begin to play. At 7 p.m., Frenchwoman Claire Duvivier talks about contemporary independent publishing with Guido Arroyo, from Alquimia Ediciones, and Marcela Küpfer, from Narrativa Punto Apart.

On the last day there will be readings from 4 p.m. and at 7 p.m. La Lectura Furiosa will begin, a marathon of narrative and poetry in which each author has 3 minutes to read their work.
