The Nan Shui Bei Diao (literally "South North Water Shift"), is the largest water transfer project in the world, from southern to northern China.
Tracing the path of this national work, the film outlines the turbulent cartography of a territory redesigned by engineers, in which cement surpasses the plains, rivers are diverted from their natural course, deserts become forests and where little by little people begin to raise their voices, demanding justice and the right to expression. While matter decomposes and individuals become alarmed, a science fiction landscape, against nature, is recomposed.
