V Seminar Transforming Education AVANTI

The Seminar emerges as a complementary space to the Festival, with the purpose of strengthening the Education area of ​​the Foundation and promoting meetings between art and education professionals and all those interested in working with youth and artistic education. Its objective is to make art visible as a tool for social and cultural transformation, as well as a right that expands paths and opportunities for girls, boys and young people. In its latest editions, the seminar has placed special emphasis on sharing pedagogical experiences, research and teaching practices that strengthen the link between art and education.

In its V version, the Seminar is presented as a space for interdisciplinary dialogue and reflection, aimed at strengthening the role of artistic education in the comprehensive development of youth. The activity will take place on Tuesday the 11th and Wednesday the 12th, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., in room C1 of the GAM, inviting artists, educators, teachers, cultural and social agents, university students and the general public.

The program includes a Round Table aimed at analyzing the current state of artistic education in Chile, its challenges and projections, with the participation of authorities from the Ministry of Cultures, Arts and Heritage, UNESCO and researchers from the sector. Likewise, Pedagogical Experience Roundtables will be developed, where teachers from different territories will share innovative initiatives implemented in formal and informal educational contexts. Finally, Performing Arts Exhibitions will be presented, by professionals with recognized experience in dance and theater, within the framework of the Ibero-American Year of the Performing Arts, who will offer new perspectives on creative work with youth.

All activities are free of charge, with limited spaces and require prior registration. The registration form will be available in the links in the bio until Friday, November 10 at 6:00 p.m. In addition, the Seminar will be broadcast through the Foundation's YouTube channel @fundacionescenicavanti.

Tuesday, November 11, room C1 - GAM.

10:00 - 12:00 | Round table: Current state of artistic education, challenges and projections.

This table will have the presence of Diego Navarrete, Sector Development Coordinator of the Executive Secretariat of Performing Arts, MINCAP; Antonia Pössel, consultant in the Culture area at the UNESCO Regional Office in Santiago and Constanza Escobar, PhD candidate in Interdisciplinary Studies on Thought, Culture and Society. Researcher specialized in public policies in culture, who will reflect on the current state of artistic education, its challenges and projections.

12:15 – 14:00 | Pedagogical Experience Tables: “Experiences that inspire”
Space that is being developed for the second year, aimed at making visible pedagogical initiatives that promote meaningful learning through art and creativity. These tables will bring together teachers and educating artists who will share methodologies, approaches and results of projects developed both in formal spaces and in non-formal contexts. It will be an exchange event that seeks to reveal good practices, generate collaboration networks and open new questions about working with young people from educational experiences.

Within the framework of the Ibero-American Year of the Performing Arts, we will have the participation of professionals from the areas of dance and theater who have generated interesting spaces for creative work that inspire new perspectives in working with youth.
