A new version of Santiago ACM SIGGRAPH/VFXChile 2018 is back, a space for collaboration and transmission of knowledge where artists from the main international studios share their production secrets with professionals in our audiovisual industry.

Starting Monday, October 8 and ending Friday, October 12, 12 conferences and 5 workshops will be given again in Santiago, Valparaíso and Concepción by renowned artists from the main animation and VFX studios such as Dreamworks Animation Studios, Walt Disney, Sony Pictures Imageworks and BLENDER, among others, to transmit their knowledge and experience. 

This year, emphasis is placed on the work of prominent women from international studies and how their point of view has managed to set a trend in the entertainment industry. Almudena Redondo and Natalia Gubareva, both specialists in conceptual art, visual development and lighting, will tell us about their participation in the film Aladdin (Walt Disney)which premieres in 2019 and the work done as a lighting designer in Smurfs and Angry Birdsrespectively. Likewise, Diana Arellano, an expert researcher in Affective Computing, will show Sara, a software that generates animations of stylized characters to study how autistic children respond to emotions. 

In addition, the director of Storyboard, Sergio Páez, will reveal the keys to the success of a film production and Greg Berridge, director of the training department at Sony Pictures Imageworks, where every animator who works in the studio must pass, comes to show the Hotel Transilvania 3 Rigs.

Spoilers: For the first time in Latin America we will have the chance to see “Bilby”the first animated short film from Dreamworks Animation Studios,presented byLiron Topaz and the presentation of the new Blender 2.8 Version with its Grease tool Pencil by Pablo Vázquez.
