Sample of Italian Literature and Culture

For two consecutive weekends in the month of July, the GAM Bookstore will host a wide sample of Italian works and authors translated into Spanish. 

The exhibition aimed at children, young people and adults seeks to convene and bring together the family around Italian literature and culture that, next October and November, will be the protagonists of a new version of FILSA.

Program

SATURDAY, JULY 8 and SATURDAY, JULY 15 – ACTIVITIES FOR ADULTS AND TEENS

15:00 – 15:45: Introduction to Italian
Duration: 45 minutes

Description: an introduction to the Italian language and its basic vocabulary, with Italian teachers and with a focus on communication for daily life and travel. Introduction to Italian represents a small sample of the courses offered at the Institute, with an offer of different levels and schedules to satisfy everyone's demands.

16:00 – 16:20: Screening of the documentary “When Italy was in white and black”

(When Italy ate in black and white): a documentary journey through the traditional and regional recipes of Italian cuisine, between dishes, testimonies and gags from personalities from the world of entertainment and culture.

16:30 – 16:50: Arturo and Clementina by A. Turin and N.Bosnia

Brief description: Storytelling for adults, below is a brief discussion on the topic of relationships.

Suggested audience: adults

17:00 – 17:30: The Girl in Red by R. Innocenti

Brief description: Dramatization of The Girl in Red, a free interpretation of the story Little Red Riding Hood, set in a modern city.

Suggested audience: teenagers (13 – 17 years old)

SUNDAY 09 and SUNDAY 16 JULY – ACTIVITIES FOR CHILDREN

15:00 - 16:00 HRS: Introduction to Italian

Duration: 60 minutes

Brief description: an introduction to the Italian language designed for the little ones, with an Italian teacher specialized in basic education: greetings and introductions, body parts and farm animals.

Suggested audience: school-aged children

16:10 – 16:30: Marco Polo's Million

Brief description: Educational itinerary through Asia, with Marco Polo's text as a guide and reference.

Suggested audience: children, preferably between 9 and 12 years old

16:40 – 17:00: Stories by phone by G. Rodari

Brief description: Free stage interpretation of a selection of six stories, inspired by the book Tales by Telephone, by Gianni Rodari.

Suggested audience: children, preferably between 6 and 9 years old

17:10 – 17:30: Be a Friend of A. Papini

Brief description: Fun dramatization of the book Ser Amigo by A. Papini

Suggested audience: children of all ages

Musical interpretation for children with the song “It takes a flower”

Brief description: Popular Italian song performed through the participation of children.
