More than 100 independent and university publishers from all over Chile will be part of the third edition of the fair organized by Editorials de Chile. A familiar panorama that shows the bibliodiversity of the Chilean book ecosystem.
This year, a total of 108 independent and university publishers will be part of the Rain of Books, with the presence of regional publishers, along with labels specialized in children's and youth literature, narrative, essays, among others.
The fair that debuted at GAM in 2019 returns with its third edition designed for all reading audiences and families. In addition to the participation of publishers, there is a rest area and a mediation activity called Literary Mandala. In it, you are invited to write and intertwine literary creations in mandalas made with different materials.
"The first edition of the Lluvia de Libros, held in 2019, had the participation of around 70 independent and university publishers, focused on various themes, genres and literary styles. This year, we returned to the Gabriela Mistral Cultural Center - a key space for the dissemination and access to independent books - with more than 100 participating publishers, which reflects the maturity and growth that our union has experienced. This increase in number is also expressed in the catalogues, which Today they cover both conventional formats such as experimental publishing and literature, graphic narrative, heritage rescue, among other themes that feed Chilean bibliodiversity,” says the president of Editorials de Chile, Tamara Reyes.
