On Tuesday, October 10, at 7 p.m., the main cultural presidential candidates will debate for the first time about the cultural policy proposals that they will have in their respective government programs.
The meeting is convened by the Cultural Policies Observatory, GAM, and the Santiago Creativo Foundation, in addition to the sponsorship of the Association of Cultural Managers, Adcultura. The organizers described the event as historic: "It is the first time in Chile that the candidates meet in person to make known and debate their proposals on culture. This may be a sign that the issue is becoming increasingly relevant on the political agenda," said Bárbara Negrón, Director of the Observatory.
The director of the GAM, Felipe Mella, expressed his satisfaction with this Forum: "We are very happy to hold this Forum with the candidates for the presidency of the republic. The idea of promoting this debate is that we set the agenda for reflections that will allow us to advance on cultural issues precisely in a scenario where artists meet their audiences and where cultural managers dialogue to share successes and mistakes."
