Gnocchi at GAM

One of the most accepted legends to explain the tradition of eating gnocchi on the 29th of each month dates back to the year 300 AD, when Saint Pantaleon was on a pilgrimage through northern Italy performing miracles. One day the 29th, hungry and ragged, he knocked on the door of some peasants, who, moved by his appearance, invited him to the only thing they had on the table: gnocchi. Grateful, he announced a year of abundance to them and that same night, when the woman cleared the table, she found gold coins under each plate. Thus, every 29th, to commemorate that evening, a bill is placed under the plate to call for abundance.

This Monday we will share this tradition of luck and abundance with a menu that includes gnocchi, a glass of wine and a ticket to the play Dear Compatriots.
