An opportunity to meet and read different authors who have spoken about the impact of photography in the world. Theoretical and practical sessions to understand the world of images and their massification through social networks.

Since the boom of social networks, it seems that a new cycle of democratization of photography has been generated. In the May sessions, we invite you to reflect on this new immediacy and overload of images and ask ourselves: what is the purpose of these publications? What role does photography play in social networks? How has the value of aesthetics been transformed? And, above all, where is the content and photographic identity?

We will be guided through two theoretical and critical sessions by renowned authors such as Walter Benjamin through The work of art in the age of its technical reproducibility and E. H. Gombrich in Art, perception and reality and some. We will also review current authors such as Julia Bell and her essay Radical Attention, and The Photographic Extension by Rodrigo Zúñiga, in addition to other articles, studies and archives.

This cycle on social networks will end with a third co-creation session, where participants will be invited to use all their creativity and enthusiasm in making a Dada collage.
