Masterclass: Tezuka Study, The Gods of Anime

Currently, Makoto Tezuka, son of the late Osamu, directs the studio with the aim of expanding the manga series with new editions and publishing posthumous works by his father. The master class, taught by this iconic production company, will be a tour of the different productions of the Tezuka studio, including its most representative work: Astroboy. In this instance, the exhibitors will tell the details of their most notable works (Marvelous Melmo, The New Adventures of Kimba The White Lion, The Three-Eyed One, among others) and answer questions from the attendees.

Tezuka Productions:  The Japanese studio was founded in 1968 by Osamu Tezuka, known in his country as “the god of manga” for spreading and making popular this way of telling stories, to which he added techniques from the cinematography of the time, thus creating a new way of creating manga, with a much more elaborate and complex plot.
This new technique that Osamu Tezuka incorporates allows him to adapt masterpieces of world literature such as Crime and Punishment, by Fyodor Dostoyevsky. Even from literature, the Japanese cartoonist and animator draws inspiration to create his adventures such as his first big hit The New Treasure Island. The studio was a pioneer in animation and has been responsible for successful television series such as: AstroBoy, Goku no Daiboken, Princess Knight, Kimba the White Lion, Dororo, and Ashita no Joe. Also feature films such as: 1001 Nights, Cleopatra and The Belladonna of Sadness.
