Jorge Arriagada, prestigious Chilean composer and jury for the Best Sound Creation Award at the latest version of the Cannes Festival, will give a free Masterclass organized by the UDD Film School and aimed at all those who are interested in cinema and the different disciplines involved. It should be noted that this activity will be moderated by the journalist and film critic Ernesto Garrat.
Jorge Arriagada is a prestigious Chilean composer living in Paris, jury for the Best Sound Creation Award at the latest version of the Cannes Festival. He has composed more than 160 musical pieces for film, many of which were made for Raúl Ruiz's films.
Likewise, he has worked with national filmmakers such as Miguel Littín, Patricio Guzmán and Valeria Sarmiento; as well as with prominent French and European directors, including Barbet Schroeder, Olivier Assayas, and Benoît Jacquot.
In the Masterclass the composer will review images from the films on which he has collaborated, talk about the creative process in the productions in which he has worked, and delve into the importance of the soundtrack and how it influences the perception of the images.
