The Parenteswing foundation brings to GAM its classes and social dance for all audiences.
At 3 p.m. class will begin with a guided warm-up. They are not typical static stretches, but rather gentle movements that incorporate the groove of the swing. Bounce walking, small jumps, arm and hip swings, all to the rhythm of music. The goal is to wake up the body, get in tune with the rhythm and prepare the muscles for the steps to come.
At 4 p.m., the public will be invited to the social swing dance, which is the culture of invitation. It's common for someone to ask you to dance with a smile and an outstretched hand, no matter your level of experience. There is no pressure, just the joy of sharing a dance. On the dance floor, the connection with your partner is key: non-verbal communication through hand contact, listening to the rhythm and mutual adaptation make each dance unique.
