For the first time, GAM will hold this community event that seeks to open spaces for exploration and encounter around the body, movement and improvisation, from a sensitive and inclusive perspective. It will be directed by Javier Muñoz, a performer, teacher and researcher with extensive experience in dance teaching.
The GAM Citizen Laboratories are spaces that promote access to artistic practices and encourage collaboration between people to explore, design and implement artistic projects from a collective perspective. Under this framework, we invite different communities to participate in instances of creation and experimentation, which we develop alongside national and international artists.
The first version of the Citizen Dance Laboratory seeks to open spaces for exploration and encounter around the body, movement and improvisation, from a sensitive, inclusive and community perspective.
It will be directed by Javier Muñoz, a performer, teacher and researcher with extensive experience in teaching dance, body awareness and collaborative artistic creation. He currently leads the Conscious Animal – Body Reflections project, and actively participates in the psychophysical research of the Plataforma Mono collective with its training practice Stay Animal.
This laboratory is conceived as an experiential process that will culminate with a performance exhibition open to the public, the result of the collective work carried out during the meetings. No prior training in dance is required, but rather a genuine interest in movement, body exploration, and artistic creation from a community perspective.
