Crimes against humanity and state terrorism Are there guarantees of Non-Repetition?
In the context of the 20 years since the opening of the Villa Grimaldi Peace Park, this seminar will contribute to the promotion and defense of human rights and the rescue, preservation, resignification and enhancement of memory.
The big topic and question will be “Crimes against humanity and State terrorism. Are there guarantees of Non-Repetition?” In this context, five thematic tables will be highlighted: Democratization, right to the truth and the role of memory; Memory and Human Rights; Public memory policies in the post-dictatorship of Chile and the Southern Cone; Social movements in Latin America and Memory and Human Rights in Chile.
Among the parallel activities, the multimedia exhibition “Memory, our history” will be inaugurated, which will be led by artists such as the National Arts Prize winner, Guillermo Núñez and the muralist Alejandro Mono González, among others.
In addition, the book “The condor continues flying” by Martin Almada, 2002 Alternative Nobel Prize winner will be presented. Finally, there will be a closing concert called: The song, an instrument of denunciation and solidarity, in which the Argentine troubadour Paula Ferré and the Chilean troubadour residing in Cuba, Carlos Tato Ayress, will participate.
