The AVANTI Interschool Youth Arts Festival celebrates its tenth edition and invites young people between 13 and 18 years old from all over Chile to live a unique experience and present their creations at GAM in the disciplines of theater, music, dance, literature and visual arts.
In its tenth edition, the festival seeks to consolidate a space for meeting and collaboration, promoting not only artistic expression but also inclusion and territorial equity. With activities scheduled at the Gabriela Mistral Cultural Center (GAM) and the CEINA Cultural Center, participants will have the opportunity to develop their creations under the guidance of artist-educators, participate in workshops and general rehearsals at the Paine Cultural Center, Talagante, Lampa, Puente Alto, Melipilla and La Granja (Espacio Matta), along with experiences in special conversations about the arts.
Through a decade of constant work to promote artistic education carried out by the Avanti Foundation and the support of prominent artists and educators, the Festival has benefited more than 4,000 young people and teachers, and attracted 15,000 members of the public. 270 educational establishments from 10 different regions of Chile have participated.
“Culture and art, understood as the expression of our traditions, emotions, stories and visions of the world, must be an essential part of the educational process. They not only allow the comprehensive development of children and young people, but also encourage critical thinking, creativity, curiosity, empathy, tolerance and the ability to work in community”, says Luz María Eynaudi, director of the AVANTI Interschool Youth Arts Festival.
This year, the festival celebrates its tenth anniversary with the support of UNESCO and Ariete Producciones, financed by the National Fund for the Promotion and Development of the Performing Arts, call 2025.
