For the sixth consecutive year, the contemporary Chilean theater series arrives on the Santiago billboards, giving space to artists who work on issues that concern today's society. Companies such as La Re-sentida, Geografía Teatral and Teatro SUR, and playwrights such as Alejandro Moreno and Camila Le-Bert, are part of the initiative organized and presented by Fundación Teatro a Mil.
This year, the Teatro Hoy cycle - organized and presented by Fundación Teatro a Mil, and with the support of the National Council of Culture and the Arts - returns to present only premieres: Social Work by Tomás Espinosa Bertrán and Theatrical Geography; Chan! by Camila Le-Bert; The dictatorship of cool by Marco Layera and La Re-sentida; Inútiles by Ernesto Orellana and Teatro SUR; Theorem of David Atencio Herrera and Third Abstract; Those who came before Ítalo Gallardo, Pilar Ronderos and La Laura Palmer; The trap of Alejandro Moreno and Horacio Pérez; and Replica by Alejandro Contreras and Acción Residente.
Between May 6 and July 9, themes such as identity and belonging, social structures and individuality versus the collective; Different venues in the capital will be taken over, such as the Teatro del Puente – where the cycle begins –, Teatro Sidarte, Teatro Camilo Henríquez, Sala Sergio Aguirre, Centro GAM, Infante 1415 and Centro Cultural Matucana 100. All of them have opened their doors to productions that follow their programming lines that emphasize the new proposals of contemporary Chilean arts.
