casino salsa class taught by Santiago dances salsa, where the basic steps will be taught to then build a choreographic “figure”.
The objective is for the public to learn in an entertaining way and to learn more about this style of dance.
Sunday, November 10
Swing class with Crazy Legs Chile, an academy and dance company dedicated to the most iconic dance styles of the Jazz, Swing and Rock’n Roll era (1920s-1960s), such as Lindy hop, Charleston, Authentic Jazz, among others.
Its directors are Sofía Contreras and Ramiro Frick, professional dancers who have performed on various stages and are regularly invited to teach classes and workshops at dance festivals in different places in Latin America, North America, Europe and Asia.
Saturday November 16
Hip Hop Freestyle class conducted by Nicolás Cancino, a reference with training in Dance and Choreography at UNIACC University.
He has participated in international festivals and workshops, and as director of the Doyoh school, he has been a key figure in the Chilean urban scene.
Sunday, November 17
Old Way Vogue class, which emerges within the Ballroom Community as the most classic form of voguing, characterized by linear strokes, right angles and precise and elegant execution, especially in the upper extremities.
This session is taught by Kari Ninja Keller/Kari Navarrete, member ofIconic House of Ninja and Pioneer Kiki House of Keller, and a graduate in Arts with a mention in Dance at the University of Chile.
Saturday November 30
Collaborative Twerk class taught by Andrea, Camila and Dian from the group Sudakas Sudadas.
The session explores the mobilities of the pelvis through Twerk, as a dance and context located in this territory, and its possibilities for sensitive enjoyment.
Sunday December 1
Contemporary Afro Jazz Dance class taught by Evens Clercema, a Haitian dancer and choreographer who has focused his work on Afro-Haitian dance and contemporary jazz.
Clercema currently works as coordinator of vocational groups, teacher of African and contemporary dance at the University of Santiago de Chile (USACH). He is artistic director and choreographer of the Arte & Culture JAFCO America and president of the JAFCO AMERICANA Intercultural Foundation.
