Dance day 2017

The brothers Gabriel and Raúl, the Power Peralta, return to GAM to make all of Chile dance as part of the celebrations of Dance Day 2017. Everything will begin at 10:30 a.m. at the front of GAM, where the duo will perform a great show in the middle of Alameda with their choreographic hits. To warm up the atmosphere, some teachers from their academy and a live DJ will also participate.

The most anticipated point of the day will be the free massive class that they will offer on stage. There they will give the public all their technique, energy and their characteristic synchronized movements that have made them known in Chile and abroad.

In this party full of hip hop, funk and pop, more than a thousand people are expected to participate, who will be able to enjoy the energy and technique of the best-known twins of national urban culture. 

But the Alameda will not be the only stage. The GAM squares will also dress up with free classes and presentations of different styles in the open air.

There will also be the group LEC Latido en Clave, which will fill the plaza with salsa and bachata. Its members will perform with the attendees the traditional 'casino wheel', a way of dancing salsa in a group that was born in Cuba in the 1950s, and which consists of forming a circle with several couples of dancers. These couples make figures to order, many of which end with a change of partner.

Red Bull will bring to the central square of GAM, part of the BC One activities, international competition days and workshops dedicated to street dancing. Starring the B-boys, masters of breakdancing, individual and group battles will take place with the characteristic energy of this style full of difficulty, strength and risk. In addition, a workshop will be held to review movements and techniques such as blocking, popping and breaking and wacking combinations.

The Milonga Callejera group will offer tango classes open to the public. This special tango style will be practiced, which is danced outdoors and seeks social integration through dance, taking advantage of public spaces.

As a closing event, the urban dance group Wolfpack Dance Studio will come, which will perform an open wildance and choreographic hip hop class. With 3 years of existence, the group has managed to integrate more than 100 dancers, including teenagers and young people who are passionate about urban dance and who have already achieved success in Chile and abroad.

Since 2012, GAM has celebrated dance day by embracing various artistic references. From K-Pop, to classical ballet, Indian dances and various flash mobs, styles have been chosen to celebrate dance and encourage the participation of the largest number of audiences in their open spaces.
