Conversation: Inauguration of the UNCTAD III Digital Archive

Within the framework of the commemoration of National Heritage Day at Home, next Friday, May 29, a discussion will be held to inaugurate the “UNCTAD III Digital Archive of Art and Architecture,” a public consultation platform, with free access, that seeks to rescue the national memory and reveal the heritage of the building that now houses GAM.

The reflection will include:

• Felipe Mella, architect, cultural manager and GAM Executive Director.
• Paulina Varas, researcher at the GAM Digital Archive, doctor in History and Theory of Art from the University of Barcelona and Graduate in Art from the University of Playa Ancha. Academic and associate researcher of the Creative Campus of the Andrés Bello University. Co-director of the Center for Residences and Contemporary Art in the city of Valparaíso (CRAC). He has been a member since 2007 of the Southern Conceptualisms Network.
• Emma De Ramón, Director National Archive of Chile, Graduate in Theory and History of Art (1983), University of Chile; Graduate in Aesthetics (1989) and Doctor in History (2000) from the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile.
• Maximiano Atria, Architect, MA in Architecture (PUC), academic at the Faculty of Architecture and Urban Planning, University of Chile FAU and heritage expert. 

Moderator: Rodrigo Guendelman, journalist, founder of @SantiagoAdicto. Columnist for La Tercera, El Dínamo, LiveGap, Plataforma Urbana and other print and digital media.

Digital archive
The "UNCTAD III Art and Architecture Digital Archive" is an online platform that brings together more than 600 documents that recreate the construction of our iconic building in 1972, called UNCTAD III at that time. There will be audiovisual material, models, interviews and many photographs that will show the backstage of our building on a completely free platform. All materials were rescued from institutions such as the Salvador Allende Foundation, the Félix Maruenda Foundation and personal collections of artists.
