Conference with Ángel Mestres

Angel Mestres, director of Trànsit Projectes, will present his most recent line of research: SOTARADAR, Unidentified Cultural Agents. A conference that seeks to identify the spaces in which the most interesting and purposeful cultural initiatives of the moment are being generated.

Because the contexts of global crisis in which we are immersed, far from representing an obstacle to the emergence of new agents and projects, seem to have motivated an imminent growth of proposals that opt ​​for self-management as the only way out. To such a degree that we can dare to affirm that contemporary cultural practices of value are developing in the cracks of the system. What was once an inhospitable territory, an indeterminate spectrum that was difficult to access, is now an undiscovered space, full of great treasures orbiting freely beyond the Kupiter Belt.

The premise of SOTARADAR is heading there in its first and very Latin American stop. To the discovery of those unidentified, hidden or distant objects, which in their own way are generating creative solutions to continue launching projects that facilitate access to cultural capital. 

About the MUSTAKIS FOUNDATION: It has its origin in the visionary character of the Greek businessmen George and Gabriel Mustakis Dragonas, living in Chile since 1920, who promoted multiple social service initiatives in favor of culture and education. Its founding principles promote the classic concepts of creativity, beauty, collaboration and improvement.

In 2016, as it turns 20, the Mustakis Foundation's main challenge is to provide people with transformative opportunities and experiences that lead them to discover their greatness and develop their enormous potential.
