In its 15th anniversary, the CHILEMONOS Festival—an Oscar qualifier—presents 153 works of excellence at GAM and brings together the greatest references and historical winners who promote animation in Latin America.
Consolidated as a space of convergence where audiovisual creation becomes a community, the CHILEMONOS International Animation Festival celebrates 15 years of sustained evolution. After the milestone of becoming a qualifier for the Academy Awards in 2018, the competition continues to project national and regional talent to the world.
In this special edition, the programming stands out for the presence of renowned speakers and historical winners. Among the main milestones, tribute will be paid to Gabriel Osorio (director of Historia de un Oso, winner of the Oscar) as Reference Director. In addition, the festival will explore the crossover between animation and music with the premiere of exclusive video clips for the band Los Tres, and will present creative processes of works such as “Olivia and the invisible earthquake”.
With a record number of more than 3,000 entries, the official selection of 153 works ranges from school short films to professional competitions and experimental cinema, reaffirming the role of the CHILEMONOS Foundation as an engine of cultural and artistic development in the region.
